Truro Cathedral presents
Poems for the Spiritual Journey

An evening of words and music from contemporary poets from Cornwall -
a chance to hear new and published work and to reflect with cello music
from T.J. Holmes.
Caroline Carver is a National Poetry Prize
winner and has had two collections published: JIGHARZI AN ME (in West
Indian dialect) and BONE-FISHING. Her work has been published in many
magazines and anthologies, both here and overseas. She's a Hawthornden
Fellow and currently poet-in-residence at Trebah Gardens in Cornwall.
Eleanor Maxted has published
two collections - Paper Tiger (Smith Doorstop) and A Pair of Cloth Ears
(University of Salzburg). She has held poetry workshops for the Blind
and Partially Sighted in both Truro and Hayle. Her poetry has been published
widely in magazines, and she is a three-times prize-winner in the Italian
Poetry Competition, Renato Giorgio.
Victoria Field is a writer, poetry therapist
and small press publisher based in Cornwall. In 2006, she was writer in
residence at Truro Cathedral and published a collection Many Waters based
on that time. She has also written a children's book for the cathedral,
The Gift, celebrating friendship, animals and spirituality. Hall for Cornwall
have produced two of her plays.
TJ Holmes began his musical training at the
age of eight as a chorister at Westminster Cathedral. He has played and
sung with many ensembles and bands, and, since graduating from Central
School of Speech and Drama in 2000, he has performed as an actor-musician
with various theatre companies in Cornwall and beyond.
