Creative Writing at Cae Mabon Thurs 10th to Sun 13th September 2009
The poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, 'What would the world be once bereft / of wet and of wildness? Oh let them be left!' If your world feels bereft of wildness and wet, this course is for you. with Victoria Field and Jill Teague This three day workshop will create opportunities to connect with the wild both within us and in the beautiful surroundings of Cae Mabon. (www.caemabon.co.uk ) We will look at poems and stories celebrating rapture and wonder in the natural world and create our own in response. There will be guided writing activities and workshops in the mornings. In the afternoons, there will be time to walk, swim, relax and enjoy the late summer. In the evenings we will have stories round the fire, dancing in the barn, hot tub by the river and songs from Eric Maddern who founded this Welsh shangri-la. Of course, we can't guarantee it will rain! Victoria Field is a writer, poetry therapist and publisher based in Cornwall. She has two collections of poetry: Olga's Dreams and Many Waters, the latter based on a ten month writing residency at Truro Cathedral.
